Whole-Home Filtration in Mesquite
A whole-home filter sits where water enters your home and treats every tap at once. We look at the pipes you already have, including old valves and past repairs, then fit a system that works with them. You get a written quote before any work starts.
How one filter covers every tap
Your city water carries a disinfectant so it stays safe in the pipes on the way to you. That part is good. The trouble is that plenty of people dislike how it tastes and smells in a glass, a hot shower or the morning coffee. A carbon whole-home system pulls most of that out before the water reaches any fixture. A sediment stage up front catches grit and rust flakes.
It is the right call when the complaint is the same at every tap. If you only care about drinking water, an under-sink reverse osmosis system may fit better. If the issue is scale, a water softener is a separate job. We will tell you which one actually matches what you are seeing.
Older houses add one more reason. Aging pipes can shed rust and sediment, and a pre-filter keeps that out of faucet aerators, the water heater and the ice maker.

What the job includes
- 01
A look at your main line first
We find where water enters your home, check the shutoff valve and see what the pipe is made of. Old gate valves often do not close all the way, and we would rather know that before we cut in.
- 02
Sediment pre-filter
A cartridge stage catches sand, scale and rust ahead of the carbon. It protects the main filter so it lasts longer.
- 03
Carbon filter tank
This is the part that reduces chlorine taste and odor for the whole house. We size it to the number of bathrooms and how much water your home uses.
- 04
Bypass valve and ground jumper
We put a bypass on each system. Turn it and the house still has water while the filter is being serviced. In many older homes the metal water line is part of the electrical ground, so we add a jumper wire across the new section to keep that connection intact.
- 05
Work on the main line
We bring in subcontracted master-licensed plumbers for every installation. Cutting into your supply line, choosing fittings that match the old pipe and making each joint tight is their job.
- 06
Cleanup and a walkthrough
We pick up after ourselves and show you how to use the bypass and change the pre-filter. Installation-related defects are covered by a 1-year workmanship warranty.
Questions about Whole-Home Filtration?
Call(972) 947-9421Signs your home could use one
Pool smell in the shower
A chlorine smell in hot water, where it rises with the steam, is the most common thing people call us about.
Coffee and ice taste off
If drinks taste flat or chemical no matter which tap you use, the fix belongs on the main line, not one faucet.
Grit in aerators
Small rust or sand bits in faucet screens often come from older pipes. A pre-filter stops them before they spread through the house.
Brown water after work on the street
Pressure changes can stir up sediment in old lines. A filter catches a lot of it before it reaches your laundry.
Dry skin and hair after showers
Some people notice this with chlorinated water. Carbon filtration takes most of the chlorine out of every shower, not just one.
How install day goes
- 1
Talk it through by phone
You tell us what you notice and how old the house is. We explain your options and set up a visit. We also offer a free water report, which gives you a look at what your water holds before you commit to anything.
- 2
Check the plumbing
We look at the main line, the shutoff, the space around it and any old repairs. Then you get a written quote that lists each part and the labor.
- 3
Install
Water is off for a few hours while the plumber cuts in the system, adds the bypass and sets the ground jumper if needed. We lay down covers where we work.
- 4
Flush and check
We flush the new carbon, check every joint for leaks and run water at several taps. You see the system working before we leave.
What sets your price
We do not price this from a chart. We quote once we have seen your plumbing, and the quote comes in writing with each item spelled out. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes.
- Size of the system
- More bathrooms and more people mean a larger tank. A bigger tank costs more up front but lasts longer between media changes.
- Getting to the supply line
- When the pipe comes up along an open garage wall, the plumber has room to work and the job goes faster. Supply lines tucked in a cramped closet or running outside the slab take extra labor and more parts.
- Condition of old parts
- If the shutoff valve is seized or a past repair used mismatched pipe, it may need to be replaced to install safely. We show you before we do it.
- Pipe material
- Galvanized, copper and plastic lines each need different fittings. Mixed materials from past repairs can add a step.
Whole-home filtration questions
Will it lower my water pressure?
A system sized right for your home should not cause a pressure drop you notice. Pressure problems in older houses usually come from the pipes themselves. If we see that, we will tell you before the install.
How often do filters need changing?
Plan on a fresh pre-filter cartridge every few months. Houses with old pipes that shed a lot of rust may need it sooner. The carbon media goes much longer, and we will show you what a spent cartridge looks like so you know when it is time.
Does it remove everything from my water?
No. A carbon system is built mostly for chlorine taste and odor, plus sediment with the pre-filter. For the drinking water at one tap, many people add a reverse osmosis system. We will be straight about what each one does.
My house has old galvanized pipes. Is that a problem?
It is not a deal breaker. The plumber uses the right fittings for that pipe, and we check the shutoff and nearby joints first. The pre-filter also helps catch rust that old galvanized lines tend to shed.
What if a joint starts dripping months later?
That is what our 1-year workmanship warranty is for. It applies to defects tied to the installation work. Phone us and we will send someone back out to check it.
