Reverse Osmosis in Mesquite
We install under-sink reverse osmosis systems that give you clean water for drinking, coffee and cooking. Before we drill a hole or tap a line, we check what is already under your sink, because older kitchens often hide worn shut-off valves and patched drain pipes.
How an RO System Cleans Your Drinking Water
An RO unit sends your cold water through a membrane with openings so tight that most dissolved minerals, salts and metals cannot get through. Whatever gets held back is flushed to the drain. Carbon stages on either side of the membrane handle chlorine taste and odor. The result pours from a small faucet on your counter, and it is water you will want to drink.
This system serves a single spot, usually the kitchen sink. Your showers, laundry and other faucets keep running regular water. If you want better water all through your home, look at whole-home filtration instead, or pair the two.
RO makes the most sense when you care about what you drink and cook with. That includes homes with older plumbing, where lead can come from old solder or brass fittings rather than the city supply. An RO membrane is one of the better tools for that at the tap.

What the Install Includes
- 01
A look at your sink cabinet first
We check the cold water shut-off, the drain line, the space you have and any old repairs. If the angle stop is seized or leaking, we tell you before we start.
- 02
Prefilters, membrane and carbon stages
A sediment filter and carbon filter protect the membrane. A final carbon stage polishes taste before the water reaches your glass.
- 03
A dedicated drinking faucet
We mount a separate faucet on the sink or counter. Plenty of sinks have an unused knockout or old sprayer opening we can put to work. Where there is none, we bore a new one sized to the faucet.
- 04
Drain connection done right
The waste line ties into your sink drain with a proper saddle fitting above the trap. On old drains we check the pipe is sound before we tap into it.
- 05
Storage tank or tankless setup
Tank systems store treated water so you get a steady pour. Tankless units save cabinet space. We help you pick based on your cabinet and how much water you use.
- 06
Clean water for the fridge, too
If you want, we tie the system into your refrigerator's ice and water dispenser. Then the ice in your glass is as clean as the water you pour over it.
Questions about Reverse Osmosis?
Call(972) 947-9421Signs an RO System Is Worth a Look
Your house has its original plumbing
Homes built before the mid-1980s can have lead solder on copper joints. City water can leave the plant clean and still pick up metals inside old pipes.
You buy bottled water every week
If the cases keep stacking up in the garage, an RO tap usually ends that habit and frees up the space.
Your tap water tastes like a pool
Chlorine taste and smell are common. The carbon stages in an RO system take care of most of it.
Your pitcher filter is not cutting it
Pitcher filters are slow and small. RO gives you a full glass on demand from its own faucet.
Coffee and ice taste off
Minerals and chlorine show up in coffee, tea and ice cubes first. Cleaner water at the tap changes that.
How the Job Goes
- 1
Talk it through by phone
You call and tell us about your kitchen, how old the plumbing is and what bothers you about your water. We ask a few questions so we know what to look for when we come out.
- 2
Check the sink and quote the work
We look at the valve, drain, cabinet space and countertop. You get a quote that spells out the system and any extra work, like replacing a worn shut-off.
- 3
Install day
Installations are handled by subcontracted master-licensed plumbers. They shut off the water, fit the valve and drain connections, mount the faucet and set the unit in the cabinet. Most jobs take part of a day.
- 4
Flush, look it over and clean up
Once it is running, the first batch of water goes to the drain to clear the new filters. We go over each connection for leaks, then point out the filter housings and the shut-off so you know where they are. The cabinet gets wiped down and the old parts leave with us.
What Moves the Price
Two RO installs can look the same on paper and cost different amounts once the cabinet door is open. Most of the difference comes from the system you pick and the condition of the plumbing it ties into. Standard professional installation is included for qualifying homes. If your sink needs more, such as a new valve, it is written on the quote before any work starts.
- The system itself
- Tank or tankless, number of stages, and add-ons like a remineralizing filter all change the cost.
- Old valves and drain pipes
- A seized or corroded shut-off valve has to be replaced before we tap the line. Brittle or patched drains may need a section redone.
- Your countertop
- Drilling a faucet hole in stone or quartz takes more time and the right bit. A sink with an open hole already in place costs less to finish.
- Low water pressure
- RO membranes need decent pressure to work well. Some older homes need a small booster pump to get good flow.
- Extra lines
- Running a line to the refrigerator ice maker adds tubing, fittings and labor, especially if the fridge sits across the kitchen.
Reverse Osmosis Questions We Hear
Does reverse osmosis waste a lot of water?
Some water goes down the drain to rinse the membrane. Newer systems waste much less than older designs. Since it only feeds your drinking tap, the total stays small compared with a load of laundry.
Will it fit under my old sink?
Usually, yes. Older cabinets can be tight or crowded with past repairs, so we check the space first. If a tank will not fit, a tankless unit often will.
Does RO remove lead?
A properly maintained RO system removes most lead at the tap where it is installed. It does not fix the old pipes themselves. It protects the water you drink and cook with.
How often do the filters need changing?
Plan on new prefilters and a fresh carbon stage about once or twice a year. The membrane holds up longer, often two years or more. What is in your water and how much you draw from the tap decide when each part is due.
Does RO water taste flat?
Some people notice it tastes lighter because the minerals are gone. A remineralizing stage adds a little calcium and magnesium back if you prefer that taste.
Is the install covered if something goes wrong?
Yes. Our RO installs carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on installation-related defects. Should a connection from the install start leaking, give us a call and we will send someone out to put it right.
